New Book Announcement (with a Twist in the Plot)

Home For Fiction

book, fiction, home for fiction, writing

Yes, I have a new book to announce; yes, there is a twist in the plot. But no, there is no twist in the book’s plot! In fact, the book has no plot.

It doesn’t have characters, either.

The twist in the plot in announcing this new book is that it’s a nonfiction book.

I don’t know what kind of demon drove me – refer to George Orwell’s quote decorating the main page of Home for Fiction – but I decided to write a complete guide on writing quality fiction.

The result – somewhat anticlimactically, after the previous sentence – is The Complete Writer: a Guide to Writing Better Fiction.

The Complete Writer: a Guide to Writing Better Fiction

Here’s another twist in the plot: Much of the material found in this new book is based on the posts of the Home for Fiction blog.

Why then, you might ask, am I republishing the material in a book form? More importantly, why would anyone want to get the book, rather than simply go through the fiction writing tips category?

First of all, this book contains every little piece of advice in one handy, easily accessible volume – one look at the table of contents, and seconds later you’ve found what you needed.

Secondly, although the material is based on my blog posts, at the same time it’s edited and augmented with many more examples, explanations, questions, and definitions. Blog posts do have spatial and other constraints that are not applicable in a book.

Lastly, purchasing this book (for what is essentially the price of a cappuccino) shows that you care about knowledge, that you respect the endless hours I’ve put in sharing this knowledge, and that you want higher-quality literature too.

You Can Get It for Free

However, as you might recall from my post on whether art should be free, all my books are essentially available for free. All you have to do to get any of them is email me and ask.

And so, if you really can’t afford The Complete Writer, don’t worry. Send me an email and I’d be happy to send you a free digital copy.

In any case, the best way to show your gratitude would be to leave a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or other similar platform. It would take you mere minutes, but it’d help me and prospective readers forever.

Keep writing; and keep reading!
